From the Village Board, we will be working with Jerry Hill, our rep. from Pen flex to get an increase in our service award funding.  The rules governing service awards says that it must go out for voter referendum.  There is some paperwork that must be filed with the state, so hopefully we can get it on the ballot for the march village elections.

We are looking into setting up a simplified 1 day, 8 hour OSHA class, to make it as pain free for some of the members who has let their active status laps.  Once again we don't want to discourage anyone from being a volunteer, but the state has mandated a minimum of 8 hours of OSHA training and  a physical (which you can get through your personal physician), and a respirator fit test.  We have a fit test machine through the Town of Schodack, and can do that part of your yearly requirements at the station.

) Don Hancock our president, and myself attended a NYCOM meeting in Menands on 8/27/09.  We were briefed on the in's and out's of the regulations pertaining to Village Fire Depts.  Fortunately, we are in very good shape, but we do have to modify our application because of some illegal questions ect.

We have entered into an agreement with the State Parks for use of the pontoon boat at the State Park.  This is for EMERGENCY USE ONLY!.  We will set up a time for training on the use of the boat, and there will be a list of authorized drivers, no exceptions.
